Perfectionism in the Workplace: what is "good enough"?

Perfectionism is both a powerful driver of excellence and a potential obstacle to productivity and well-being. In corporate environments, maintaining high standards is invaluable—yet when perfectionist tendencies lead to stress, procrastination, or diminished confidence, they can hinder success.

This session explores strategies to harness perfectionism effectively: prioritising progress over an unattainable fantasy, and recognising when "good enough" is optimal for efficiency and innovation.

By shifting from a fear of failure to a mindset of continuous growth, professionals can transform perfectionism into a strategic advantage—one that fuels performance while fostering resilience, adaptability, and sustainable success.

Simulation: Teaching High-Stakes Skills in Low-Stakes Environments

Mastering high-stakes skills requires precision, confidence, and adaptability, but the pressure of real-world consequences can hinder learning. Simulation-based training provides a controlled, low-stakes environment where individuals can refine critical skills without fear of failure.

Whether in healthcare, corporate leadership, or public speaking, simulations allow for realistic, hands-on practice, immediate feedback, and progressive skill development. By removing the pressure of high-stakes consequences, learners can experiment, make mistakes safely, and build true competence.

This approach transforms learning from theoretical to experiential, ensuring individuals are prepared for real-world challenges when the stakes are high.

The Limits of Coercion: Recognising Ineffective Strategies and Mastering Influence

Many professionals (knowingly or not) rely on coercion—whether through pressure, persuasion, or authority—to drive results, often without realising when these efforts become counterproductive.

This session helps participants identify their own patterns of ineffective force, understand why coercion often yields diminishing returns, and explore alternative strategies for influence, leadership, and negotiation.

Through interactive discussions and real-world case studies, attendees will learn to recognise the signs that force is failing, workshop more effective approaches—such as setting clear boundaries, using strategic rejection, and fostering genuine buy-in—and develop the ability to pivot when persistence is mistaken for progress.

By practicing when to push, but also when to hold back, professionals can transform their influence, strengthen relationships, and achieve sustainable success without unnecessary friction.
